7Days holds some of the most personal things a person writes down. The short version: it is private by default, it is never public, and you can delete it.

Private by default

There are no public pages, no feeds, no follower counts, and no search. A letter is visible only to the circle you chose, and only in the app behind sign-in. Notification emails link to a letter; they never contain its contents.

What we collect

• Your name, email address, and timezone.
• What you write in your weekly check-ins, and any photos you add.
• The letters assembled from those check-ins, and who they were sent to.
• A log of messages sent and received, so replies that go missing can be debugged.
• A dated record of what you agreed to when you signed up.

That’s the whole list. There is no analytics tracking, no advertising, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties beyond the providers that deliver email and assemble your letter.

We don’t read or analyse what you write

7Days does no content scanning, no sentiment analysis, and no crisis detection. Your answers are stored and compiled — nothing reads into them. This is a deliberate choice, and it means the app will never notice if you are struggling. Your friends might; that’s the point.

AI processing

An AI model assembles your letter from your own weekly notes. Your check-ins are sent to that provider only for that purpose, and only when a letter is being composed. We require that providers do not train on your content.

Deletion

You can delete a single photo, a whole week, a letter, or your entire account, yourself, from your account page. Deleting means deleting:

• the rows come out of the database, and everything attached to them goes with them;
• the photo files themselves are removed from storage, not just unlinked;
• the raw copies of any emails you replied to — kept so a bad reply can be diagnosed — go too;
• every device you were signed in on is signed out.

One honest exception: a letter you already sent has been read by the friends you sent it to. Deleting it removes it from 7Days, but we can’t unread it for them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Access and export are self-serve — download a copy of everything we hold about you, any time, as one file. For anything else, ask and we’ll do it.
